Community

Community Overview

Temple Israel is a kehilla, a sacred community. Community is a word that, in English, is used vaguely in many settings. The hebrew word Kehilla, however, is richer, more nuanced and captures the heart of what it means to be a part of our congregation. We are a group of people engaged with each other to seek God, to explore and live out our understanding of Judaism, to offer and to give support, to share joy and sorrow, to learn and grow together and to explore the meaning of our lives and the wisdom of our ancestors.

In order to meet the needs of our kehilla, Temple Israel has many varied groups that act as our hands to reach out, build, care for one another and to generally get things done. Everyone is welcome to participate.
