Jewish Youth Programs
From early childhood to becoming young adults, exposing our next generation to tradition and Jewish values will help them establish the building blocks for their future. This invaluable foundation will leave a lasting impression on our youth as they grow and develop both in maturity and in faith.
Temple Israel offers Jewish Youth Programs for every age. Your family does not have to be Temple Israel Members or students of the MAGAL Hebrew School to participate in any of these programs, so we encourage you to join us to connect, learn, and have fun!
Junior Congregation
Shabbat Services for Students - Led by Fanny Sernik
This lively, participatory service provides our congregation’s young people the opportunity to explore the prayers and Torah portion. As their prayer skills and Torah trope flourish, students will first lead in Junior Congregation and then “graduate” to the sanctuary service.
USY
High School-Age Youth Group of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Movement
The Temple Israel USY chapter is open to all area teens regardless of synagogue membership. Teens will have the opportunity to participate in leadership training, social programming, community service, and Israel advocacy with Jewish teens in our HaNegev region.
Kadima
Middle School-Age Youth Group of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Movement
Our Kadima group meets jointly with Temple Shir Shalom’s middle school youth group for double the fun. Membership is open to all area 6th-8th graders regardless of synagogue affiliation. In addition to chapter events, membership allows participation in HaNegev regional events.
L’Dor v’Dor
Temple Israel’s Youth Program for Children in Grades 2-5.
This group gives our children the opportunity to gather informally with their Jewish friends to socialize while learning about their Jewish heritage and becoming more aware of community concerns.
Tot Shabbat
Services for Families with Children Under 5 Years Old
Meet other families with small children as we celebrate Shabbat with the youngest members of our community! This joyful and engaging monthly program features Shabbat-themed songs, stories, a Torah parade, simple blessings, and snacks! *Membership NOT required.
