Latino Shabbat
Temple Israel has an active Latino membership that meets regularly for special Latino services and cultural events. The service includes participants singing and praying in Hebrew and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish), reading psalms, and a sermon in Spanish. It creates a connection to the prayers in a meaningful and cultural way. We invite you to be part of our vibrant Latino community at Temple Israel.
Latino Shabbat services are typically held on Shabbat Mornings (Saturday) and start after the Torah is returned. We begin with a Spanish D’var Torah from one of our members. We proceed with the Musaf service, followed by the concluding prayers. The siddur we use is in Hebrew, Spanish, and Hebrew transliterated into Spanish to help with pronunciation. Prayers are assigned before service, and the individual decides whether they lead it in Spanish or Hebrew. After service announcements, we then join the full congregational Kiddush in the Social Hall.

Temple Israel cuenta con miembros latinos activos que regularmente se reúnen para servicios especiales latinos y eventos culturales. El servicio latino incluye participantes que cantan, oran en hebreo y Ladino (Judeo- español) y leen salmos. El sermón es en español creando así una conexión a la oración de forma cultural muy significativa. Les invitamos a ser parte de nuestra vibrante comunidad latina en Temple Israel.
Los servicios de Latino Shabbat se llevan a cabo típicamente en la mañana del Shabbat (sábado) y comienzan después que la Torah es devuelta al arca. Comenzamos con un D’var Torah en español por parte de uno de nuestros miembros. Procedemos con el servicio de Musaf seguido por las oraciones finales. El siddur que utilizamos es en hebreo, español y hebreo transliterado en español para ayuda de la pronunciación. Las oraciones son asignadas antes del servicio y el individuo decide en qué idioma las realiza ya sea en español o hebreo. Después del servicio se informan los anuncios, luego nos reunimos en el salón social para el kiddish congregacional.
