(Not your Bubbe's) Sisterhood
We are a women’s group where anyone who is a member of the synagogue and/or who identifies as a woman and is Jewish may join Temple Israel Sisterhood.
Purpose
Our purpose is to strengthen and unite women and support their efforts to understand and perpetuate Conservative/Masorti Judaism in the home, synagogue, and community. It is also to reinforce their bonds with Israel and with Jews worldwide.
Why You Should Join
While you do not have to be a member of Temple Israel Sisterhood to participate, you get more by joining. Benefits include fellowship with congregants, opportunities to interact with Jewish women across our state and nation, as well as participating in projects that benefit our synagogue and the Jewish community at large. These activities include exciting and informative programs from Yoga and Zentangle classes to Shofar Blowing classes, Sisterhood Shabbat, Torah Fund study days, and the list goes on.
Members
Who are our members? Look around the synagogue, and you’ll get the idea: all ages, all marital statuses, all different backgrounds, and interests. In short, every kind of woman is a part of Temple Israel Sisterhood!
When you join Sisterhood, you join a group of women committed to Temple Israel and each other (hence the name). You become part of something bigger than yourself. We are one of the affiliates of the Florida Region of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ), and you can participate in WLCJ’s regional and national programs and events.
Benefits
The benefits of Temple Israel Sisterhood membership extend far beyond the individual members. These vibrant women provide many benefits to the synagogue and the Jewish community locally, nationally, and internationally.
